Sloganeering workshops
The Sloganeering workshop is a mobile screen printing/postering action. Its genesis came from a discussion with my colleague Päivi Raivio in which I expressed the desire to explore the immediate and impactful qualities of screenprinting — both as a means of expression and of communication. Inspired by the protest posters of Paris ‘68, we developed the concept of the Sloganeering workshop. Using random words to create cryptic slogans and the simple paper-cut stencil method of screenprinting, participants make bold, colourful posters which are then pasted up around the city. To date the workshop has been run in Tallinn, Berlin (with Daniel Haskett) and Helsinki, as part of Ihme Festival. The duration of the workshop is typically 4-5 hours.
